Washington event marks Bravewell's official release of the Summary of the Summit on Integrative Medicine and the Health of the Public
Grace Kanoy and Amy Greeson were privileged to attend the black-tie dinner event that was held on November 4, 2009 at the M
andarin Oriental Hotel in Washington DC. Award-winning cardiac surgeon, author, and health and wellness expert Mehmet Oz, MD served as the Master of Ceremonies. At the start of the evening, IOM President Harvey Fineberg, MD, PhD, presented the official Summary of the Summit to Bravewell President Christy Mack, stating that, "Bravewell is the force for integrative medicine." Dr. Fineberg thanked IOM Executive Officer Judy Salerno, MD; IOM Senior Scholar Mike McGinnis, MD; and Chair of the IOM Planning Committee Ralph Synderman, MD, for their hard work in convening the Summit. In attendance were representatives from government, health care, education, advocacy groups, philanthropy and major corporations as well as private citizens. "This is the way it should be," commented Dr. Oz. "It's going to take all of us working together to transform health care and create a culture of health and wellbeing in America."
The Bravewell Collaborative lies in the forefront of expanding awareness about integrative medicine including implementing its inclusion in medical schools throughout the US. We were honored to share the evening with many outstanding pioneers including co-founders Christy Mack and Penny George.

New film documentary focuses on Healing Seekers
Healing Seekers will be the subject of a new documentary currently entitled, "The Village Healer" now underway by filmmaker and producer Erin Willis. By focusing on Healing Seekers, Willis and team will explore what it takes to move a cause from idea to reality, and the commitment required to impact real change. The film team will be documenting all we do over the next couple of years as we continue to drive our project forward and grow our mission. We're excited about the project, and it's winning scenario that will not only provide insight into the struggles of finding a voice in today's over-messaged environment, but will bring a new audience to HS -- and a new way of telling our story. Erin's team includes an impressive cast of documentary and media professionals. The film is scheduled for completion in 2012.Healing Seekers Educational Webisode #3

Yes Weekly - Healing Touch Big Medicine

Pharmacist Amy Greeson led an expedition in the Ecuadorean Amazon rainforest. If Robert Frost took the road less traveled, Amy Greeson has taken the road, the path, the trail, the river, the stream, the tributary and, in many cases, the way where there was not even a road to take. Her life’s journey has taken her places where no one in Western civilization has gone before. She has taken the road not traveled, both literally and poetically.
And, as with Frost, “That has made all the difference.”
